He states a test anyone can run, and passes it. His biography says that a lawyer advertising personal-injury specialization without board certification is advertising in violation of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct — and invites readers to check the certified list. His own State Bar record confirms the certification.

The bar record

We read Drew Gibbs in the State Bar of Texas Find a Lawyer directory — the same register behind every Houston and Dallas listing on this site. The practice, school, fee and language rows are supplied by the lawyer; the Bar publishes them without verifying them, and prints in words where a lawyer has supplied nothing.

Texas answers, and asks more than anyone else. The State Bar prints No Public Disciplinary History as a sentence — not a blank like Washington, not a missing field like Pennsylvania. And it asks about eight things no other register on this site asks about at once: practice areas, law school, fee options, languages, other states, courts of admittance, firm size and services provided. Where a lawyer declines, it prints the refusal in wordsNone Reported By Attorney — so you can tell a question nobody asked from one nobody answered. One record on this page says that five times.

These nine were held once, and the hold is why this listing exists in the form it does. Nine Austin lawyers — this one among them — first reached us with an entry from austinbar.org, the Austin Bar Association’s find-a-lawyer: a voluntary membership directory with no disciplinary field of any kind. We did not publish them. The State Bar of Texas records have since been supplied, and the comparison settled the question: all nine read No Public Disciplinary History — the field the directory does not have — and on top of that, three of the nine licence dates in the directory were wrong and four addresses disagreed, with the regulator matching the lawyer’s own website on three of them. The wait produced a better record, not merely a slower one.

What the record shows

His biography states: If you see attorneys advertising that they specialize in personal injury cases, their names should be found on this list or they are advertising in violation of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct. His State Bar record reads: Board Certified, Personal Injury Trial Law. We fetched the biography on 19 August 2026 and read the register entry. The claim is checkable and it checks out.Verified

Across two hundred and nineteen listings, almost nobody does this. Most biographies here list awards conferred by private academies and magazines. His names a regulator-conferred credential, explains what it took to earn it, tells the reader where the list lives, and states the rule that governs anyone claiming it without one.Verified

The register also records Other States Licensed: Colorado and admission to the Texas Western District Court — two fields most registers on this site do not carry at all.Verified

His firm’s website is served from oldslingshot.triplestarter.com. That host returns 200 and carries his biography and the firm’s rideshare page. slingshotlaw.com returns 403 to us and gibbscrivelli.com does not resolve. We report what we could load and cannot say why the live content sits on a host whose name begins “old”.Verified

his firm’s content is served from oldslingshot.triplestarter.com — a staging host, not the firm’s own domain. It returns 200; slingshotlaw.com returns 403 to us and gibbscrivelli.com does not resolve
This is the firm’s own marketing. It shows they hold themselves out as taking rideshare cases — it is not evidence that they have run one, and we have not verified any rideshare case they have handled.

What we haven’t checked

Not established. Why the firm’s content is served from a staging host. His Colorado licence, a register we did not search for this batch. The thousand clients, which no register records. We have not reviewed court records for case outcomes, we print no settlement or verdict figures, and we have no basis for judging quality of representation. A bar check is a floor, not a ranking.
