Licensed in four states — Texas plus Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico — and the register proves it. Three other-state licences is the most of anyone in this city. His is also the only Austin record that answers both service questions with a Yes: ADA-accessible client service and language translation.

The bar record

We read Jack Zinda in the State Bar of Texas Find a Lawyer directory — the same register behind every Houston, Dallas and Austin listing on this site. The practice, school, fee and language rows are supplied by the lawyer; the Bar publishes them without verifying them, and prints in words where a lawyer has supplied nothing.

Texas answers, and asks more than anyone else. The State Bar prints No Public Disciplinary History as a sentence — not a blank like Washington, not a missing field like Pennsylvania. And it asks about eight things no other register on this site asks about at once: practice areas, law school, fee options, languages, other states, courts of admittance, firm size and services provided. Where a lawyer declines, it prints the refusal in wordsNone Reported By Attorney — so you can tell a question nobody asked from one nobody answered. One record in this city says that five times.

These nine were held once, and the hold is why this listing exists in the form it does. Nine Austin lawyers — this one among them — first reached us with an entry from austinbar.org, the Austin Bar Association’s find-a-lawyer: a voluntary membership directory with no disciplinary field of any kind. We did not publish them. The State Bar of Texas records have since been supplied, and the comparison settled the question: all nine read No Public Disciplinary History — the field the directory does not have — and on top of that, three of the nine licence dates in the directory were wrong and four addresses disagreed, with the regulator matching the lawyer’s own website on three of them. The wait produced a better record, not merely a slower one.

What the record shows

His State Bar record lists Other States Licensed: Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. That is the most other-state licences of any of the fourteen lawyers in this city, and it is the register saying so, not the firm. Three of the fourteen list Colorado; he is the only one listing Arizona or New Mexico.Verified

Under services provided, his record answers ADA-accessible client service: Yes and Language translation: Yes. He is the only lawyer in Austin whose record answers both. Eight of the fourteen answered None Reported By Attorney or left every service line unspecified. Texas is the only register on this site that asks.Verified

His record also answers the fee question — Contingency Fees: Yes — and gives a Baylor J.D. dated November 2005, six months before his May 2006 licence.Verified

The licence date we were first given was wrong. The Austin Bar Association directory recorded 8 May 2006. The State Bar of Texas records 4 May 2006. We print the regulator’s date. It is a four-day difference and it changes nothing about him — but it is the sort of thing that tells you which of two sources to build on.Verified

His firm’s rideshare page states Uber’s cover as up to $50,000 per person, up to $100,000 total for bodily injury, and up to $25,000 for damaged property in driving mode, and up to $1 million in matched mode, plus a separate $1 million for crashes caused by an uninsured or underinsured motorist. We fetched the page on 27 August 2026. The dollar figures match the statute and the other Austin pages; the vocabulary does not match anyone.Verified

What the firm says

He says the firm handles cases nationally. The register confirms four state licences; we have not checked the Arizona, Colorado or New Mexico registers.Reported

The firm publishes a table of past case results with dollar amounts. We print no settlement or verdict figures, here or anywhere on this site.Reported

He says he was named a Texas Rising Star and to a Top 40 Under 40 list in several years. Those are conferred by private publishers, not by a regulator.Reported

Rideshare

Rideshare content — checked 27 Aug 2026
Uber & Lyft
zdfirm.com — a rideshare page that describes the statutory tiers as “driving mode” and “matched mode” rather than numbered periods, and is the only page in this city to name the $1M uninsured/underinsured motorist cover separately from the $1M liability cover. Fetched and confirmed live
This is the firm’s own marketing. It shows they hold themselves out as taking rideshare cases — it is not evidence that they have run one, and we have not verified any rideshare case they have handled.

What we haven’t checked

Not established. His Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico records — three registers we did not search for this batch, and three more disciplinary systems that could hold something Texas does not. Every case result on the firm’s site. We have not reviewed court records for case outcomes, we print no settlement or verdict figures, and we have no basis for judging quality of representation. A bar check is a floor, not a ranking.
