Andrew Traub
One of the few lawyers anywhere on this site whose register records his fee terms. Texas asks about fees and he answered: Contingency Fees, Yes. Eleven other registers do not ask, which is why every non-Texas card here reads "fee terms — not on the register".
The bar record
We read Andrew Traub in the State Bar of Texas Find a Lawyer directory — the same register behind every Houston and Dallas listing on this site. The practice, school, fee and language rows are supplied by the lawyer; the Bar publishes them without verifying them, and prints in words where a lawyer has supplied nothing.
This listing carries a dash on discipline, and the reason is ours, not the register’s. Texas does answer — the Houston and Dallas listings on this same page all carry No Public Disciplinary History from the State Bar. The record supplied to us for this lawyer stops before that block, and texasbar.com refuses our connection from this network, so we could not read it ourselves. What we do have is the regulator’s status line: Eligible to Practice in Texas. That is a licence check. It is not a discipline check, and we are not going to let one stand in for the other. The dash means we do not have it, which is exactly what it has always meant here. A second State Bar record for this lawyer has since been read, on 27 August 2026, and it does not carry the disciplinary block either — nor the courts-of-admittance block. Twelve of the fourteen Austin records print both. These two do not, and we cannot tell you whether that is the register or the way these two records render. So the dash stands.
These nine were held once, and the hold is why this listing exists in the form it does. Nine Austin lawyers — this one among them — first reached us with an entry from austinbar.org, the Austin Bar Association’s find-a-lawyer: a voluntary membership directory with no disciplinary field of any kind. We did not publish them. The State Bar of Texas records have since been supplied, and the comparison settled the question: all nine read No Public Disciplinary History — the field the directory does not have — and on top of that, three of the nine licence dates in the directory were wrong and four addresses disagreed, with the regulator matching the lawyer’s own website on three of them. The wait produced a better record, not merely a slower one.
What the record shows
His State Bar record answers the fee question: Contingency Fees: Yes. Texas is the only register on this site that asks a lawyer how they charge, and one of the few things a prospective client most wants to know before calling. Two of these five left the same field blank.Verified
The register also records French and Hebrew under language assistance, a solo practice, and admission on 3 November 1995 — thirty years, the longest of the five.Verified
His firm’s rideshare page states that 21% of those injured are Uber or Lyft drivers, 21% are passengers and a significant 58% are third-party drivers or passengers. We fetched the page on 19 August 2026 and confirmed all three figures. None carries a source. We do not reprint them as fact; a breakdown that adds to exactly 100% across three categories is the shape of a real dataset, and without a citation there is no way to tell whether one exists.Verified
His biography is the most unusual on this page: born in Johannesburg, raised in Toronto and Dallas, co-owner of a computer manufacturer before founding the firm in 2003, and still writing software in his spare time.Verified
What the firm says
He says he earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1995 after the Honors Business and Management Program, which matches the law school and year on his register.Reported
He says he is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association, the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.Reported
He publishes eight self-written consumer booklets with dates, on insurance practices and protecting an injury claim. That is more dated, attributable output than most biographies here carry.Reported
